Kirkland's to close store near Fayette Mall

January 3, 2014

Kirkland's, a home furnishings and decor store, said in a release Friday that it will not renew the lease for its store in The Plaza at Fayette Mall in Lexington. The chain's store in Hamburg will remain open.

"Kirkland's customers can still find their favorite products at our Hamburg Village location," Michelle Graul, Kirkland's senior vice president of stores, said in the release. "We want our Lexington customers to continue to enjoy the special experience of shopping at Kirkland's."

Kirkland's location in The Plaza at Fayette Mall will close Feb. 2, the release said. Store employees will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at other Kirkland's locations.

Nashville-based Kirkland's operates 324 stores in 35 states.
