High school basketball highlights: Bryan Station boys upset No. 12 Warren Central; LCA boys win Arizona tourney

C.J. Walker scored 18 points and Jordan Henry had 14 points, six assists and two steals in Bryan Station's 62-47 victory against Warren Central in the Bluegrass Cellular New Year's Classic at Central Hardin. Jared Savage led the Dragons, who came into the game 12th in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State, with 11 points and five rebounds.

■ Tournament MVP Matt Rose had 24 points and six rebounds in Lexington Christian's 65-43 victory against Lake Mary, Fla., in the championship of the Rock Classic at Scottsdale, Ariz. Drew Trimble, who also made the all-tournament team, had eight points, four assists, four steals and three rebounds.

■ Justin Sanders hit five three-pointers and poured in 41 points in Sayre's 74-67 victory at Berea. Sanders, who was 13-for-20 from the field and 10-for-18 from the free-throw line, also had four rebounds and four assists. Quinn Pergande added a double-double — 17 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots — for the Spartans.

■ No. 4 Scott County cruised to a 72-52 win against visiting Oldham County. Teddy Ware scored 16 points and Raekwon Long had 10 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Cardinals (9-2).

■ David McCorvey scored 17 points to go with five rebounds and three steals in Henry Clay's 73-49 win against visiting Franklin County. Rylan Rowe scored 18 points for the Flyers.

■ No. 23 Madison Central held off a challenge from visiting Woodford County 69-66. Indians sophomore Cameron Thomas had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Eli Boggess led the Yellowjackets with 32 points.

■ No. 24 West Jessamine had to outscore host Paris 14-3 in the fourth quarter to come away with a 60-58 win. Daulton Peters led the Colts with 14 points.

■ Camron Justice scored 23 points in No. 11 Knott County Central's 77-45 victory against visiting Powell County.

■ Scott Keaton had 30 points and 10 rebounds in Nicholas County's 58-50 win over Williamstown.

Girls' highlights

■ No. 6 Franklin County jumped out to a 19-10 lead through one quarter and went on to defeat visiting North Hardin 64-47 in the Centria Metals/Staxx BBQ Shootout. Nannilena White led the Lady Flyers with 15 points and three assists, and Rebecca Cook had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

■ Molly Manella scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Gabby Bowie had 13 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and four blocked shots in host Sayre's 50-39 victory against Bethlehem.

■ Kayla Rankin had 20 points, 12 rebounds and five steals in Perry County Central's 74-37 win against Bourbon County in the Centria Metals/Staxx BBQ Shootout at Franklin County.

■ McCreary County Central's Kayle Cotton scored 38 points and had 15 rebounds in a 65-63 victory against Taylor County.
