Lexington's trash, recycling collections delayed by weather

January 6, 2014

With subzero temperatures and wind chills as low as 30 degrees below zero overnight Monday, Lexington has canceled Tuesday's trash pickup.

City officials have asked residents with Tuesday city waste and recycling collection to put their Herbie and Rosie containers out Tuesday night for collection Wednesday.

Monday's collection also was canceled because of the weather. Residents who were affected by that change also should put out their containers Tuesday night, officials said.

Crews will work to get caught up by later in the week.
