Scott County schools closed because of broken pipes, damage

Scott County schools will remain closed Wednesday because of problems with water pipes at two schools and other weather-related concerns, the school district said.

According to information posted on the Scott County Public Schools website early Monday morning, pipes burst at Eastern Elementary School overnight, and some sprinkler heads burst at Georgetown Middle School.

Damage to several classrooms at Eastern Elementary and the Georgetown Middle media center, and "other weather-related facility concerns," prompted the closing, the statement said.
