Gunman robs Lexington gas station

Police said they hope surveillance video will help them identify a gunman who robbed a Lexington gas station early Monday morning.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said a masked man entered the Shell Station at 1998 Harrodsburg Road about 1:50 a.m. Monday, displayed a gun and demanded money.

The robber then ran off with an undetermined amount of cash, Roberts said.

Officers planned to review surveillance footage later Monday in hopes of identifying the man, she said.

He was described as white, about 5-foot-6, weighing about 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark mask and a dark hoodie, Roberts said.
