Globetrotter visits Lexington school, giving demonstration and some advice

January 13, 2014

Harlem Globetrotter Dizzy Grant brought the exhibition team's humor and showmanship to a Lexington elementary school on Monday in a presentation aimed at preventing bullying.

The Globetrotters play Sunday at Rupp Arena.

Grant's visit to Rosa Parks Elementary was part of the team's community outreach program called The ABC's of Bullying Prevention.

The program, designed in coordination with the nonprofit National Campaign to Stop Violence, aims to teach 6- to 12-year-olds the values of action, bravery and compassion.

The Globetrotters' website says the players "equate what it means to be part of a team to how kids can offer support to one another to help stop bullying."

Sunday's game is at 3 p.m. Tickets, $24 to $109, are available at
