Ferdi Demiri

A man broke into a Lexington market early Friday morning, then called police to come and get him.

An officer found Ferdi Demiri, 26, behind the counter at a Redi Mart on East New Circle Road about 1 a.m., police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

The door of the business had been broken in, according to police.

Demiri was not armed and offered no resistance, Roberts said.

According to police, Demiri called 911 and stated he was inside the market.

Roberts said Demiri told officers he'd become stressed out after an argument with family members and wanted to go to jail.
