January 17, 2014

The largest high school diving event in Kentucky takes place Saturday at the University of Kentucky's Lancaster Aquatic Center.

The Kentucky High School Diving Invitational, hosted by Bryan Station, features 27 teams from around the state, including all eight schools from Lexington. Additionally, the meet includes several teams from around central Kentucky, plus schools from Louisville, northern Kentucky and western Kentucky.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.

Girls' diving takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. The boys dive from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Spectators are advised to keep quiet during the dive but can cheer loudly after the diver enters the water. Fans can take pictures but cannot use flash photography.
