Construction in progress at Fayette County Schools

Renovation at Lexington's Glendover Elementary School is slated to be finished by December 2014, at a total projected cost of $15,100,225.

Fayette County Public Schools has launched 13 renovation projects at various schools since 2010. Many of them are nearly completed, but several others are scheduled to begin this fall, continuing to at least August 2017.

Costs can rise, and, because of a number of uncontrollable factors, completion dates are moving targets. Mary Todd, Tates Creek Middle, Cardinal Valley and Clays Mill all had 2012 completion dates. Those projects are essentially finished, but minor work is continuing. The building and renovation projects are possible because of a 2007 property tax increase dedicated to facility improvements.
