Danville police arrested two Lexington residents early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop.

According to police, Sergeant Jonathan Courtwright stopped a 2013 Honda about 1:45 a.m. during a burglary investigation.

Police said they arrested Brooke Nicole Aylala, 18, and Scotty Ray Mullins, 20, both of Lexington, after a search of their car turned up drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

Both Mullins and Aylala were carrying cash, police said, although the amount was not disclosed.

Both suspects are charged with trafficking in marijuana, first-degree trafficking in cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
