2 trucks jackknife 20 miles apart on I-75

January 21, 2014

Two tractor-trailers jackknifed on northbound Interstate 75 about 20 miles apart Tuesday afternoon.

Northbound lanes were temporarily closed near the Athens-Boonsboro exit. Starting about noon, traffic was diverted around the crash and back onto the highway at Man o' War Boulevard, said Lt. Mark Brand of the Lexington police.

Interstate 75 "is not a good place to be," he said. "Really, stay off I-75."

Georgetown police might agree with that.

Two lanes of northbound I-75 near the Paris Pike exit in Scott County were temporarily closed Tuesday afternoon when a tractor-trailer jackknifed there about 11:30 a.m., a Georgetown police dispatcher said.

At that site, one lane remained open, the dispatcher said.
