Richmond woman charged with attempted murder in stabbing at motel

A Richmond woman was charged with attempted murder Tuesday night after a man was stabbed at a motel, Richmond police said.

Candace Faye Peters, 33, was being held in the Madison County Detention Center.

Police were called to Quality Quarters Inn on Killarney Lane to investigate a stabbing shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officers found Danny R. Peters, 50, who had been stabbed at least four times and was bleeding profusely.

Peters was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington, where he was treated for a punctured lung. He was expected to recover.

Police learned that Danny Peters had been drinking with his brother and Candace Peters when a disturbance erupted. Police were unsure what relation Candace Peters is to Danny Peters. She is accused of stabbing him several times. The knife was recovered.
