Delk named Kentucky's 2014 SEC Basketball Legend

January 22, 2014

Former All-American Tony Delk has been chosen as Kentucky's Southeastern Conference Basketball Legend and will be honored at this year's SEC Tournament in Atlanta.

A three-time All-SEC selection during his four years at Kentucky, Delk was also named the 1996 Final Four Most Outstanding Player, leading UK to its sixth national championship. He was selected consensus first-team All-America in 1996, when he was also named SEC Player of the Year.

Delk finished his UK career with 1,890 points, fourth-most in school history at the time and fifth-most today. Delk was selected 16th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets and went on to play 10 seasons in the league.

Each SEC Basketball Legend will be recognized at halftime of his school's first game at the tournament.

This marks the 16th year of the SEC Basketball Legends program.
