The owners and staff at 815 Restaurant & Tavern in Midway are saying, "Finally."

The latest and final renovation at the restaurant, at 131 East Main, has been a work in progress for seven years, general manager Grayson Vandegrift said.

"It has now become the restaurant the owners have sought since Day 1," he said, referring to Sarah and Rob Vandegrift.

Justin Thompson, who formerly worked at Jean Farris Winery & Bistro, is the chef, and his specialties include smoked meats and sausages, and his variation of kale, a Southern favorite. Also on the menu are seafood, steaks and small plates, on which guests may sample three items for $15. Breads and desserts are made daily.
