72-year-old Harrodsburg woman dies in early-morning apartment fire

A woman died early Thursday morning in an apartment fire in Harrodsburg, authorities said.

Mercer County Coroner C. David "Sonny" Ransdell said Suzanne Coullias, 72, was pronounced dead at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in Harrodsburg, where she was taken after the fire. Firefighters found Coullias in the apartment where the fire started.

Ransdell said preliminary indications are that Coullias died of smoke inhalation.

The fire on North Greenville Street was reported about 12:30 a.m.

The cause remains unknown.
