Lex-Care: Mother of two needs help to pay for fire damage

February 3, 2014

Danielle Gilchrist at the Community Action Council is working with a client in need of $500 to repair fire damage to her home. The applicant lives with her two children, ages 4 and 1.

The applicant works as a bus monitor with the Fayette County Public Schools and is going to nursing school. Though the landlord is setting up a payment plan for the remaining amount of the damages, she is unable to pay the full amount. After receiving assistance, the applicant will be able to budget her money to pay off the remaining damages. She will be able to support her family with her current job in the school system.
