Nicholasville police search for petite woman who robbed Speedway station

Herald-Leader Staff ReportFebruary 4, 2014

No one was hurt during a robbery early Tuesday morning of the Speedway at North Main and Barnes streets in Nicholasville, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the store shortly after 2 a.m. The clerk told police that a petite woman demanded money from the register and seemed agitated.

The clerk complied and the woman left on foot with cash from the register. She crossed Main Street and ran up Bell Court.

The robber is described as less than 5 feet 6 inches tall. She wore a gold coat with a hood and a dark, hooded sweatshirt underneath. She had dark gloves, black leggings and white tennis shoes. The hood on the sweatshirt was pulled tight enough that the race and any other physical characteristics of the woman were obscured.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Nicholasville police at (859) 885-9467.
