Two are arrested in string of Lexington robberies

February 4, 2014

Two men were arrested Tuesday in connection with a string of eight robberies in Lexington over the past week.

Richard Squires, 36, and Brian Jackson, 23, are charged with first-degree robbery in connection with robberies at Cirilla's on Thursday; Speedway, Underground Printing and Wong Wong Chinese Restaurant on Friday; Sir Pizza and Shell on Saturday; Baskin Robbins on Sunday; and Game Stop on Monday, according to a news release from Lexington police.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Robert said Squires would demand money with a note, and Jackson would act as an accomplice and drive away. The men got away with money after each robbery, she said.

Roberts said police used witnesses and other information gathered during the investigation to arrest the men.

Police asked anyone with information to call the robbery/homicide unit at 258-3700 or text "tips2020" plus your message to 274637. Tips can also be submitted at bluegrasscrimestoppers.com.
