State police are investigating a crash on an icy road in Rowan County that killed an Ohio man.

William Snipes, 66, of Miamisburg, Ohio, died at the scene Wednesday afternoon, according to the Morehead state police post.

The wreck occurred about 3:45 p.m. on Ky. 801 at an Interstate 64 overpass, troopers said.

Police said Snipes was driving north on Ky. 801 when he lost control of his Dodge Ram as he crossed the overpass. He was unable to regain control because of icy road conditions, troopers said.

Snipes' vehicle collided with a southbound Dodge Durango driven by Ricky White, 43, of Salt Lick, police said.

White was treated at the scene, police said.

An investigation continues.
