Searchers pulled the body of a woman from a Breathitt County creek early Thursday morning after her car flipped into the stream. The woman was at least the third woman to die since Sunday in Eastern Kentucky because of crashes that sent vehicles into creeks.

Coroner George Griffith identified the latest victim as Jeanette Noble Sizemore of Breathitt County.

Griffith said Sizemore's vehicle ran off Ky. 476 and plunged into Troublesome Creek about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Griffith said crews recovered her body about 6 a.m. Thursday after locating the vehicle, which was submerged.

Sizemore, who lived in Breathitt County, worked at the Kentucky River Medical Center and was on her way home when the wreck occurred, Griffith said.

Authorities said Sizemore's car apparently went out of control on a curve, then crashed into the creek.

The road was slick at the time, Griffith said.

In the other crashes, a Knott County woman was killed early Tuesday when her car careened into a creek, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. Brenda Thacker, 54, of Mousie was driving east on Ky. 550 when she apparently misjudged a curve and ran off the left side of the road. Her car came to rest in a creek, police said.

An Owsley County woman died Sunday in a wreck, state police said in a news release. Norma Gay, 65, was driving on Ky. 2022 at Buckhorn, in Perry County, on Sunday night when her 2000 Ford pickup truck went over an embankment, overturned and landed upside down in a creek.
