Berea man is charged with possessing, sharing child porn online

A Berea man faces child-porn charges after police searched his home and found evidence related to an Internet crimes against children investigation, according to Kentucky State Police.

Brian J. Smith, 26, was charged Wednesday with multiple counts of possession and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. The arrest came after the state police Electronic Crime Branch found Smith sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. Police searched Smith's home Wednesday night and removed equipment used in the alleged crime, the news release said.

Smith was being held in the Madison County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond.
