Two teenagers are facing multiple charges after leading Lexington police on a short chase Saturday.

Edgar Allen Wilson and Jevontaye Lamar Taylor, both 19, were driving a stolen Ford Ranger near Fifth and Chestnut streets about 9 a.m. in Lexington when police noticed the vehicle, Lt. Sam Murdock said.

Murdock said police tried to stop the vehicle at Fifth Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard, but the men drove off and quickly crashed. They then jumped out of the vehicle and ran on the 500 block of Elm Street before being caught.

Wilson and Taylor have been charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, failing to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and fleeing and evading police. Wilson is charged with two counts of fleeing and evading police.

They were being held in the Fayette County Detention Center. Taylor's bond is $8,545, and Wilson's is $13,545.
