Suspect in 10 robberies is arrested after Saturday holdup

Police have arrested and charged a 30-year-old man in connection with 10 recent robberies at restaurants and gas stations around Lexington.

Officers arrested Aaron Adams Lakes on South Broadway about 11:30 Saturday night, after a robbery at Jet Pizza on South Broadway.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said an officer who was in the area saw someone fleeing after the robbery. Lakes was arrested in a parking lot after a brief foot pursuit, she said.

He is charged with 10 counts of first-degree robbery in holdups dating to early January, police said. Lakes faces additional charges on unrelated arrest warrants, police said.

■ Jan. 12 at a Shell station, 1998 Harrodsburg Road.

■ Jan. 21 at a Subway, 409 Waller Avenue.

■ Jan. 26 at Domino's, 828 Lane Allen Road.

■ Jan. 29 at Subway, 3320 Partner Place.

■ Jan. 30 at Arby's, 1228 South Broadway.

■ Feb. 3 at Subway, 1202 Versailles Road.

■ Feb. 4 at Arby's, 212 Southland Drive.

■ Thursday at Shell station, 1998 Harrodsburg Road.

■ Thursday at Sir Pizza, 1076 South Broadway.

■ Saturday at Jets Pizza, 1030 South Broadway.
