Johnson County soldier dies in Afghanistan

A soldier from Johnson County died Monday while serving in Afghanistan.

Pfc. Joshua Gray, 21, of Van Lear, died "from a non-combat related incident currently under investigation," the Department of Defense said in a news release Tuesday.

The defense department said the death occurred at Bagram Airfield.

Gray was assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
