Sayre girls rout Whitefield Academy 55-32

Sayre's Molly Manella had 20 points and three steals in a 55-32 victory over Whitefield Academy. Manella was honored for scoring 2,000 career points at Sayre and Shorecrest Academy in St. Petersburg, Fla.


Molly Manella's 20 points, and Gabby Bowie's 13 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots powered Sayre's girls to a 55-32 victory over Whitefield Academy on Tuesday night.

It was the Spartans' fourth win in a row.

Sayre put the game away early, rolling to a 21-2 lead and bumping the margin to 34-9 by halftime.

Whitefield had 27 turnovers that the Spartans converted into 28 points.

Sayre had 12 steals, including three each by Manella and Hannah Brady.

Manella, who led the Spartans to the Touchstone Energy All "A" Classic for the first time this season, was honored for scoring 2,000 career points. Most of those came at Shorecrest Academy in St. Petersburg, Fla. She has played the past two seasons at Sayre.

Moriah Tedder led Whitefield with 11 points and six rebounds.
