KHSAA bowling championships start Thursday in Lexington

The second annual Ebonite/KHSAA bowling state championships are Thursday and Friday at Collins Eastland in Lexington.

Individual competition will be Thursday.

Scott County sophomore Sarah Doyle, who was state runner-up last year, is among the girls' favorites.

Mary Neitzel of Scott County and Nicole Eads of Paul Laurence Dunbar are also in the field.

The boys' singles will include Mac Hart of Henry Clay, Tyler May of Tates Creek, Landon Yazell of Bryan Station, Josh Abney and Zachery Howard of West Jessamine, and Braxton Hatton of Scott County.

The individual finals should begin just after noon. The awards ceremony will be at 2:30 p.m.

The team competition will be on Friday. The boys' finals will start at 12:15 p.m. The girls' finals will start at 5:15.

The boys' team competition will include East Jessamine, Henry Clay, Scott County and West Jessamine.

The girls' team competition will include Bryan Station, East Jessamine, Lafayette and West Jessamine.
