With 14 snow days to make up, the Anderson County school board has voted to cancel the district's spring break and to hold school on Memorial Day.
The decision was made Wednesday night at a specially called board meeting after those days were the most popular option chosen by parents and students responding to an online survey.
The board voted unanimously to use spring break — March 31 through April 4 — and May 26, Memorial Day, to make up days missed due to inclement weather.
Many districts across Kentucky have missed 10 or more days of school this winter.
Previously, the Anderson board had also voted to attend school on President's Day and March 10, a professional development day.
If no more days are missed, the last day for students in Anderson County will be May 30.
