Man hit by train in Lexington, seriously injured

A man was in the hospital with life-threatening injuries Wednesday after being hit by a train in Lexington.

Lt. Sam Murdock said police received a call about 5 p.m. about the accident at the railroad tracks near the 1800 block of Old Paris Pike. Murdock said the injured man, whose name was not provided, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
