USBC event starts Friday, ends July 12

The United States Bowling Congress Open Championships will start Friday at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev. Bowlers will compete for more than $5 million in prize money in the event that runs daily through July 12.

■ The 74th Greater Lexington USBC Tournament and the 69th Greater Lexington USBC Women's Tournament will conclude Sunday at Collins Bowling Centers-Southland.

■ The Bluegrass Senior Bowling Club will hold its annual Seniors Tournament at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland on March 9. The handicap singles event will begin at 2 p.m. and the entry fee is $16 per bowler. The event is open to any sanctioned senior bowler age 50 or older and will be divided into six divisions based on age with divisions for both men and women.

Entry forms are available at all area bowling centers and the entry deadline is Feb. 26.
