Ex-Wildcat LeMaster cited for selling bogus basketball tickets

February 25, 2014

Lexington police have ordered former University of Kentucky basketball player Preston LeMaster to appear in court to face a misdemeanor charge theft by deception stemming from fraudulent UK basketball tickets.

Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said LeMaster was cited Feb. 11 as a result of a report last month from a woman who said she was sold fake tickets to the Jan. 21 UK men's basketball game in Rupp Arena against Texas A&M.

The following day, the woman told police she bought the tickets on the secondary market, tried to enter the game with them and was told the tickets were fraudulent. She identified LeMaster.

Lexington police said anyone with information is asked to call the financial crimes unit at (859) 258-3700.
