Wednesday's UK baseball game against Dayton is postponed

University of Kentucky shortstop Connor Heady threw out a runner in the first inning Tuesday against Wright State in the Cats' 2014 home opener. Kentucky won, 7-1. Wednesday's game against Dayton was postponed because of the cold. The Cats next play Friday, opening a three-game series against Michigan State.

The University of Kentucky's baseball game against Dayton scheduled for Wednesday evening has been postponed because of inclement weather.

UK announced Wednesday morning that the game would be rescheduled for a later date. Kentucky (6-2) beat Wright State 7-1 on Tuesday in its 2014 home opener, getting a three-hit, two-steal game from Austin Cousino and the first career homer from sophomore Kyle Barrett. The Wildcats will next play Friday, hosting Eastern Michigan in a three-game series that starts at 4 p.m. at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
