TV Highlights, Feb. 28-March 2: Oscars, 'Hannibal' returns, more

Ellen DeGeneres returns to host the Oscars for a second time.


Friday: The delectable thriller Hannibal returns for its second season, and you just know there will be blood. Probably lots of it. 10 p.m., NBC.

Saturday: Former pro sports great Deion Sanders returns to prime time in Deion's Family Playbook. The reality series follows his life as the father of five and a football coach at a charter school he cofounded. 10 p.m., OWN.

Sunday: It's Hollywood's big night: the 86th Academy Awards. Hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, above, for the second time, the Oscars broadcast will include a salute to movie heroes and heroines ( including an appearance by the reclusive Kim Novak). 8:30 p.m., ABC.

■ Pre-shows get underway early: Countdown to the Red Carpet (1:30 p.m., E!), TVGN Live With ET at the Oscars (5 p.m., TVGN, formerly TV Guide Channel), Live From the Red Carpet (5:30 p.m., E!) and Oscars Red Carpet Live (7 p.m., ABC).

■ For a full overdose of the Oscars, there are a couple of post-shows: E! After Party (11:30 p.m., E!) and Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars (about 12:05 a.m., ABC).
