Law firms Dinsmore & Shohl and Peck Shaffer merge

The Cincinnati law firm Dinsmore & Shohl, which has a Lexington office, is merging with Peck Shaffer and Williams. The merger is effective Saturday.

Peck Shaffer is a large public finance practice, ranked by Bond Buyer organization 15th in the nation among underwriter's counsel and 16th in the nation among bond counsel in its 2013 rankings.

Peck Shaffer was founded in Cincinnati in 1889 and is one of the oldest bond counsel firms in the nation, according to a release from Dinsmore & Shohl. From 1977 to 2005, Peck Shaffer opened offices in Columbus, Covington, Chicago and Denver. Peck Shaffer serves clients in nearly all 50 states. Dinsmore gains 23 partners, eight associates, four of-counsel attorneys and 27 professional staff in the merger.
