A Somerset man was charged Thursday afternoon in two Lexington robberies.

David Todd James, 46, is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery for two hotel Sunday robberies, according to a police news release.

At 4:51 a.m., officers were called to the Clarion Hotel, 1950 Newtown Pike, after a reported robbery. The clerk reported that a man had entered the hotel with a gun and demanded money. Later that night at 11:50 officers received a call from a clerk at the Microtel Motel after it was robbed. The robber had a gun and asked for money. It was unknown how much money was taken.
