A.J. Reed hit his seventh home run of the season, and Max Kuhn had a career-high four hits and three RBI as the Kentucky baseball team swept a doubleheader against Eastern Michigan at Cliff Hagan Stadium on Saturday.

Reed's 24th career homer, a line drive over the right-field fence, highlighted a 13-2 victory in the second game of the doubleheader. UK won the first game 9-5 as junior right-hander Chandler Shepherd (2-0) pitched eight innings and did not allow an earned run.

Kentucky (9-2) swept the three-game series and extended its winning streak to seven games.

"It was a good weekend and certainly a good doubleheader," Kentucky Coach Gary Henderson said. "We got a lot of guys seeing it well and putting good swings on it, so we're in a good spot right now."

Kuhn, a junior, went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI in the second game. Junior center fielder Austin Cousino went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and his first triple of the season.

Cousino went a combined 5-for-9 in the doubleheader — scoring five runs and driving in three — to raise his batting average to .438. He has 50 multi-hit games in his UK career.

Reed, a junior regarded as one of the top players in the nation, reached base six times in nine trips to the plate in the doubleheader, raising his on-base percentage to .528. The homer boosted his slugging percentage to 1.024.

Sophomore right-hander Kyle Cody (2-0) pitched four scoreless innings in the nightcap, allowing two singles, striking out three and walking none. Cody lowered his ERA to 1.35.
