Oklahoma State Coach Travis Ford attended Lafayette's basketball practice Tuesday and extended a scholarship offer to senior forward Jackson Davis.
Davis has emerged as one of the top uncommitted prospects in the Class of 2014. The 6-foot-8 recruit will lead the Generals against Henry Clay in the first round of the 11th Region Tournament on Friday night in Frankfort, and several college coaches are expected to watch him play in that game.
Davis' mother, Ginger Davis, told the Herald-Leader on Tuesday that coaches from Boston College, Florida State, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Rice and Georgia are expected to attend Friday's game. If Lafayette wins, Baylor is scheduled to be in town for Saturday's semifinal.
The Lexington standout has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Butler, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Rice and Central Florida. Other schools that have expressed interest in his recruitment over the past couple of days are Florida, Indiana and Virginia Tech.
Alabama Coach Anthony Grant offered a scholarship late Monday night after an in-home visit with Davis and his family.
Davis is the son of Johnathon Davis, who played for Kentucky from 1987-91. He has not been contacted by UK or Louisville.
