CURTAIN RISES AT COMMONWEALTH: Emerging from a wall of smoke with a few Air Raid sirens thrown in, the Kentucky football team ushered in the Mark Stoops era in Lexington. The Cats gave Stoops his first win as a head coach by beating ­Miami (Ohio), 41-7.
