UK Gatton College to offer business management crash course

The University of Kentucky's Gatton Institute for Business Management and Leadership Excellence is offering an 11-week session beginning March 20 that focuses on the basic lessons of a business degree.

The institute is designed for people who "may have limited business backgrounds, yet want to gain the general knowledge and skills necessary to meet the challenges of today's business environment," according to UK.

The program will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings through May 29.

Topics include: "How Good Leaders Become Great," strategic talent management, "New Product Research and Emotional Intelligence," and leading group negotiations."

Participants who complete the program receive 30 hours of continuing education credit.

The program is $984, or $900 for UK employees.
