Someone fired shots into a Lexington home early Monday morning, police said.

Police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said officers were sent to the 800 block of Cheryl Lane about 2:20 a.m. Monday after a resident reported that someone had fired at the house.

The resident told police he was awakened by a loud noise, went to investigate and found that the glass in the front storm door had been shattered.

Police found two shell casings in the street, Roberts said.

A neighbor reported hearing three gunshots and a car driving away at high speed, police said.

No one was injured, and an investigation is continuing.
