Lexington Comic-Con: Details, schedules, guests

The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention has oodles of stuff going on during its three days at the Lexington Convention Center: face time with original Star Trek stars William Shatner and George Takei (not together, though), and Nichelle Nichols, a panel in which pro wrestler Mick Foley will talk about how he lost his ear, and several sessions of "sci-fi speed dating."

When: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. March 15; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 16. (Most events on March 14 and those after 6 p.m. March 15 are for VIP ticketholders only.)

Where: Lexington Convention Center, 430 W. Vine St., and environs.

Tickets: $15-$17.50 for one day, $25 for two days; free for kids ages 10 and younger. VIP tickets are sold out. Extra charge for some events, including the Amy Jo Johnson Experience ($100) and Jason David Frank meet-and-greets ($75). Available at door (cash only) and Lexingtoncomiccon.com.

10 p.m.-midnight: Meet-and-greet costume party with Freddie & the Cruegers (open to public; Heritage Hall).


11 a.m.: Q&A with William Shatner (Regency Ballroom in the Hyatt Regency hotel). Screening of Comic Geeks (Patterson Ballroom B). Q&A with Robert Venditti (Patterson Ballrooms C & D).

Noon: Screening of Turra: Gun Angel (Patterson Ballroom B). Dino Thunder Q&A panel (Patterson Ballrooms C and D).

1 p.m.: Costume contest (Heritage prefunction area). Power Rangers Time Force panel (Patterson Ballrooms C and D). Doctor Who story panel (Patterson Ballrooms E, F and G).

2:30 p.m.: Weapons demonstration with Jason David Frank (main convention floor).

11:45 p.m.: Screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Kentucky Theater, 214 E. Main St.).


10 a.m.: Mick Foley and Big Van Vader Q&A: "The Ear Incident" (Patterson Ballrooms A-D).

11 a.m.: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers panel (Patterson Ballrooms A-D). Wrestling stories with Jim Cornette (Patterson Ballrooms E, F and G).

Noon: Children's costume contest for ages 14 and younger (Heritage prefunction area).

1 p.m.: Jason David Frank Q&A (Patterson Ballrooms A-D).

2 p.m.: Cosplay 101 panel (Patterson Ballrooms A-D).
