The Fayette County Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to discuss the district's proposed budget cuts. The meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Fayette County Public Schools' central office, 701 East Main Street.

In February, Superintendent Tom Shelton sent school employees an email saying the district needed to trim $20 million from next year's budget. The district has held two forums for parents, students and teachers to hear fears, concerns and feedback on ways to handle the cut.

District officials have said that there's no number set for positions or programs that might be cut.
