Three killed, one hurt in Greenup collision

Three people died and a fourth was seriously injured in a two-car collision on U.S. 23 in Greenup Sunday afternoon.

It happened just after 4 p.m. inside the city limits of Greenup in northeastern Kentucky.

The Greenup County Sheriff's Department identified the victims as Tracie Howard, 43, of Portsmouth, Ohio; Ruby Brown, 22, of South Shore; and Jamond Buford of Ashland.

Joshua Bowling 33, of Flatwoods was transported to King's Daughters' Medical Center in Ashland, where he was in serious condition, the sheriff's department said.

The sheriff's department, Kentucky State Police, Greenup City Police and several area fire department responded to the crash, which closed U.S. 23 for several hours.
