Police arrested a man Monday night in Lawrenceburg after he allegedly fired shots at them.

Kentucky State Police said it happened about 7:15 p.m. on Mays Road. Officers had gone there to investigate a harassment complaint.

When officers arrived, the man began firing shots at them, according to troopers at the Frankfort state police post.

Anderson County sheriff's deputies, Lawrenceburg police and state police all rushed to assist.

Police said they surrounded a home and tried to negotiate with the man inside. He then attempted to flee in a vehicle.

The man crashed into an Anderson County Sheriff's Department cruiser, officers said. He was then arrested.

The suspect's name was not released, but charges are pending, according to state police.

An investigation is continuing.
