A man was in critical condition Friday night after a motorcycle wreck at Old Richmond Road and Damar Drive in Lexington.

Police were called about the crash at about 6:20 p.m. The man lost control of his motorcycle when going into a curve, Lt. Eddie Hart said.

It appears the man, whose name wasn't given, hit a guardrail multiple times until hitting a wooden post, Hart said. The man was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

The man was wearing a helmet and riding with another motorcyclist when the accident happened. Hart said eyewitnesses saw the men riding at high speed moments before the crash. The second man was not injured, Hart said.
