A motorcycle wreck at Old Richmond Road and Damar Drive killed a Lexington man, the Fayette County coroner said Saturday.

Lee Williams, 43, was pronounced dead in the emergency department at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital just after 7 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the coroner's office. He had suffered multiple blunt force trauma, the release stated.

Police were called about the crash at about 6:20 p.m. Friday. Williams lost control of his motorcycle when going into a curve, Lt. Eddie Hart said.

It appears that he hit a guardrail multiple times until hitting a wooden post, Hart said.

Williams was wearing a helmet and riding with another motorcyclist when the crash happened. Hart said eyewitnesses saw the men riding at high speed moments before the crash. The second man was not injured, Hart said.

The coroner's office said Fender Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
