Four Richmond residents are facing multiple drug charges, including trafficking heroin, after a Berea Police Department investigation Friday.

Christopher Wayne Mullins, 21; Jennifer Mullins, 36; Jermaine Van Twilley, 42; and Jermaine Earl Benning, 24, were charged with first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance (heroin) and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a police news release.

Chistopher Mullins and Jennifer Mullins were also charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Berea police and deputies from the Madison County Sheriff's Office searched two homes on the 4000 block of North Cross Point in Richmond and found over 58 separate packs of heroin, scales, small plastic bags and $217 in cash. The heroin was packaged in pieces of folded lottery tickets.

One of the homes had a table that was used for processing the drugs along with a plate and plastic bags with trace amounts of residue, a release from the police department said.

All four detainees were being held in the Madison County jail.
