Nerd alert! 'Doctor Who' in Kentucky

The Wizard World Louisville Comic-Con is Friday through Sunday at the Kentucky International Convention Center, 221 South Fourth Street in Louisville. Guests will include Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, who played the 11th Doctor and Amy Pond on the BBC drama Doctor Who. For more info and advance tickets go to Wizardworld.com Tickets are $35 to $85.

'America's prettiest half-marathon'

Take a run through Thoroughbred country at Run the Bluegrass, a race that is dubbed "America's prettiest half-marathon." Starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, thousand of runners will travel through Central Kentucky horse farms, starting and finishing at Keeneland Race Course, 4201 Versailles Road. Learn the latest trends in home decor, gardening

Check out the latest in gardening, home design and more at the 39th annual Central Kentucky Home, Garden and Flower Show at Rupp Arena. Among the guests will be antiques appraiser Harry Rinker and Wayde King and Brett Raymer of the Animal Planet aquarium show Tanked.
