Body found Thursday morning in Lexington's Thoroughbred Park

A body was discovered about 11 a.m. Thursday at Thoroughbred Park near downtown Lexington, police confirmed.

The body was found near some electrical control boxes on the west side of the park, near East Main Street and Eastern Avenue.

Police said the person might have been homeless. The initial indication was that the person died of natural causes, police said. An investigation is continuing.

Lexington Parks and Recreation employees who had gone to the park to do maintenance work noticed the body, police said.
