Danville man charged when police investigate drug use at motel

Danville police charged a man Sunday night while investigating reports of drug use at a motel.

Jacob Wayne Bell, 26, of Danville, was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Officers went to the Best Western in Danville about 8:50 p.m. Sunday, after receiving a complaint of possible illegal narcotics use at that location.

Officers said Bell was arrested when they investigated the occupants of a room.

A large amount of currency also was located, they said.
