Kentucky's O'Neill earns honorable mention on AP All-America team

Kentucky junior guard Jennifer O'Neill and Louisville senior guard Shoni Schimmel earned All-America accolades from The Associated Press on Tuesday.

O'Neill received honorable mention. Schimmel was named to the second team.

Also earning honorable mention recognition was Paul Laurence Dunbar graduate Ebony Rowe of Middle Tennessee State.

The AP All-America first team included Chiney Ogwumike of Stanford, Odyssey Sims of Baylor, Breanna Stewart of Connecticut, Kayla McBride of Notre Dame and Alyssa Thomas of Maryland.

O'Neill started only three games this season but led Kentucky in scoring at 12.6 points per game.

Schimmel leads Louisville in scoring (17.1) and assists (3.8).

Rowe, a senior forward, ranked third nationally in double-doubles with 26, and averaged 21.6 points and 11.6 rebounds. She is Middle Tennessee's all-time career scoring leader.
